The Yale Review of Books, the oldest undergraduate book review in the nation, is a quarterly publication distributed on and around Yale campus and in bookstores and coffeehouses in New Haven, Connecticut. Four thousand copies of each issue are printed, reaching an audience of 5,600 undergraduates, 5,000 graduate students, and 9,100 faculty and staff.

Each issue of the YRB contains book reviews penned by members of the Yale community, interviews with noted authors, as well as essays about literature and matters of contemporary import.

The YRB's distinguished advisory board consists of influential opinion-makers including Henry Louis Gates, Jr., David Gergen, Lewis Lapham, Charles McGrath, and Robert Dahl.

Information for Publishers and Advertisers

The Yale Review of Books is the nation's first undergraduate bookreview magazine. We publish review-essays of between ten and twenty books, covering genres from the literary memoir to the political polemic, four times each year. The books are selected for their interest to the Yale community and other university communities nationwide.

Each issue of the Yale Review of Books is distributed FREE to:

through distribution points including faculty mailrooms, academic departments, and residential colleges. This market consists of

through displays in a growing number of area bookstores. (700 copies of each issue are distributed through 5 New Haven bookstores and newsagents.)

Advertising revenue covers 100% of our production, mailing, and miscellaneous costs. As a student publication, we receive no financial assistance from Yale University.
